Man, I love how characters in this show are just doing exactly the same thing over and over, typically trying to looking cool while at it (which isn’t easy because the budget is evidently running low). This is interspersed by the moments where they don’t understand wtf is going on. “I must protect xyz! — What’s happening? — I must protect xyz!..”
Apparently the guy who wrote this (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ichir%C5%8D_%C5%8Ckouchi) also wrote screenplays for Code Geass and some other things that suggest he at least knows how to engage the audience. It’s like he isn’t even trying here; in terms of creativity, the show seems to have run out of steam by the end of episode 4 or so. :(

Yeah.. I think I’ll finish watching the show considering it is almost done… but … I most likely won’t give it a high rating.
Nor suggest it to the person I was thinking of suggesting it to.
At least the action picked back up. Honestly I think looking at it from a pace or two away it’s a decent show, but it seems less-decent because the early episodes were much more promising.
And yes, the guy smacking him unconscious with a nightstick was some serious bullshit. I guess they didn’t have the budget for a struggle with 10 guards.
Things that are guaranteed to happen repeatedly in this show:
– Ikoma getting knocked to the ground by guards with a stick (despite being a demicorpse with superhuman strength).
– Kurusu white-knighting.
– Ayame being a princess that needs rescuing (and getting knocked to the side whenever trains get a bit bumpy)
– Mumei thinking she’s above everyone.
The worst part of this episode is that small knife cutting the ropes that support such a huge bridge.
