Amagi Brilliant Park BD Batch

The hardest job about this show was to pick just one release pic for the batch

Remember when I said there would have been new encodes for volumes 1-3?
Well, that was the truth.
But it wasn’t the whole of it.

I found out by accident that there are actually 4 versions of the OP, which are almost identical but not really so. So yeah, I’m sorry for whoever archived this already, but you’ll have to re-download everything again. A number of little things were also fixed in the scripts of several episodes, by the way.

“Sasuga Saeval.” ~Period

Yeah I guess I deserve that.

Aside from the already-released episodes, this batch contains 7 new flaming specials.

And speaking of which, here’s a TL note regarding them: special 1 has a sign that is a subtle mahjong joke. Basically, you’d either say tsumo or ron, depending on if you score by a draw or if you pick up an opponents discarded tile. And to quote the TL, “it just happens to be that ron is the suffix the retarded sheep uses for everything”.

Moving on, since this is the BD batch it’s time for the staff roll:
TL: Vivid (1-13 default script), Sentai (1-12 secondary script), S0uten (14), Oosran (SP1-7)
TLC: Oosran (14)
Timing: Sarrink (1-14), Mheadows (SP1-7)
Editing: solowing (14, SP1-7)
Typesetting: Vivid (1-13), Sarrink (14, SP1-7)
Encoding: Saeval
QC: Arzine (7-8), begna112 (14), Period (1-6, 11-14, SP1-7), Razkuba (SP1-7), Saeval (8-14, SP1-7), Suhaib (1-14), S0uten (14), Xenath3297 (1-7, 9-14)

Thanks again to Vivid who provided the original subs and to everyone who worked on this.

Enjoy the Magic Hour!

  • Hye admin I have the previous volumes version. Do I have to re-DL the whole thing? or will there be a patch?

  • Thanks a batch, guys!

  • Cezar

    It’s time.

  • pikopika

    Thank you!

  • Thanks for putting out the batch guys!

Sucks that we have to redownload the whole thing, but at least I’ve got pretty fast internet with no data caps. ;)

  • Gin-Iro

Finally, the real Amagi Brilliant Park BD batch. Unlike Geese1 with fast internet with no data caps, I’ll have to wait for days for this to finish downloading, damn my ISP blocking p2p. Nonetheless, a sacrifice is needed for me to once again watching Lati… em, Amaburi anime.

    • Have you tried xdcc?

      • Gin-Iro

Already tried it before and the DL speed frequently unstable and sometimes broken T^T. Glad there is still DDL provided, though it also takes longer time to complete the download due to crappy DL speed, yeah…

  • thanks for the batch ?

  • I guess I’ve put off watching this for long enough; thanks for the release!

  • Ask her screen name, ask her screen name, haha epic

  • ashveersingh786

thanks for all of your hard work! can’t wait to rewatch the series ^_^

  • Minisungam

    Thank you!

  • Keaton

As soon as I saw Amagi disappear from the Bluray Batch sidebar I though: “It is time”. Thanks a bunch guys, looking forward to seeing this for the first time.

  • Tosshi

    Please subs Tokyo Ghoul: Jack

  • Klawdij

Btw it’s never too late to pick up Heavy Object.
    Just saying.

  • Kuuhaku

    still waiting for Seraph :”)

  • ¬_¬

    Maybe they’ll do a triple release ;)

  • rude

Thanks for adding the Sentai subs, Dame!

  • Jonesy974

Oh praise the lord. Sentai subs > Vivid.

Is there any way to delete the Vivid subs off the release altogether after the download is finished?

    • itsP

Get a copy of mkvtoolnix (I’d recommend version 7.9.0 over anything later). Open each episode in mkvmerge GUI, untick the subs you don’t want and mux.
Naturally this will change the CRC, and if you’ve torrented the release, you won’t be able to use your muxed versions for seeding.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you could also re-order the sub tracks and/or change the default sub track.

      • Keaton

        MKVToolNix is love and life.

      • Jonesy974

Holy hell, I gotta give you a big tank you for telling me about that mkvtollnix program. It really is love and life. Was able to remux with just the sentai subs as you suggested without any hiccups.

Also found the feature that lets you change which sub track is the default track and remux it. Cant tell you how many batches I have from all sorts of groups where the signs/song track is set to default for whatever reason. Was able to make the actual subs the default track while still having the s/s track active secondary.

Shit is literally a godsend lol. Thanks for the recommendation.

  • Jonesy974

Oh, that sounds like a bit of a hassle. Though, if I do decide to do that, it wont change it to hardsubs/change encodes/video quality/timing or anything?

Is there a way to re-order or change the default track outside of the media player? For instance I use VLC, and I changed the settings so that Jap language and the first track with Eng subs is used by default.

I’ve downloaded a small portion of shows before where the sub track was named differently so the episode started raw and I had to turn the sub track on each episode. I ended up changing the settings to make those shows subs work by default, but then it ended up fucking up my original settings and making my regular shows get messed up and not show subs.

    • I don’t know of any way, and do keep in mind that the subs tracks have different names but are both marked as “English” language.
I’d suggest first of all to throw VLC out of the windows and to switch to either CCCP or mpv if you care at all about quality, then sticking with pressing your ‘s’ or ‘j’ button to switch between the available tracks.
If you really hate Vivid’s splendid script you can do as itsP said and extract/remux the tracks keeping only the one you want. Also no, remuxing doesn’t affect video quality or subs in any way.

      • Jonesy974

I don’t know why VLC gets so much flak. I never have any issues whatsoever, so I have no desire to use CCCP.

Splendid is also not the first word that comes to mind with Vivid’s script, lol

        • itsP

I only care about how typesetting is rendered. Unfortunately, VLC uses libass, which has a few quirks that make anything but simple signs fall apart into a laggy mess.
There’s also questions about the quality of the video rendering, but I don’t know if that applies to recent builds.

Personally I’ve used VLC for Android to watch simulcast rips when I’m away from my PC.

          • Jonesy974

            Ah, interesting.
I have had heavy typeset cause problems before. Though I didn’t know whether that was VLC related, or just my laptop not handling the load.

Can’t recall any video issues really. Perhaps way back with the older version, but I think most issues have probably been patched.

          • Period

Smooth Video with MadVR is a big one. Makes the video renderer render with vsync regardless of the fps of the actual show. It isn’t interpolation, but it makes pans look so much smoother. I can’t watch things with VLC anymore simply because MadVR makes things look so much better.

    • itsP

I guess the easiest thing to do would be to just hit V in VLC to cycle through the subs, but you’d have to do that each episode each time you watched.

      • Jonesy974

Thanks. I don’t plan on rewatching it for a while, so I’ll decide on what I’ll do after seeding.

  • I held off watching this until now as you guys mentioned how this is one of the releases deserving of 1080p. I’m now 9 episodes in and it’s just so beautiful. Thanks for doing this release :).

    • I’m glad you’re liking it :D (and that you listened to my suggestion :P)

  • party pooper :(

Don’t mean to sound ungrateful or anything, but the ddl for episode 6 of the 1080p release is not working? :( Not sure if others have had any issues…thank you for the episodes, though!

  • @party pooer :(

    me too, I can’t dl ep.06 1080p

Any chance you guys would release Sidonia s2? Since Rein already released the BD?

    • Not really I’m afraid. Also not like we’re interested in want Rein does :P If you want Sidonia I’d suggest to wait for the LNS release

      • Oh well, worth the shot! Thanks anyways and I’ll just have to test my japanese skills on the last episode (the one time I’m not happy about a longer ending).

  • Where did you get Sentai Filmwork subs from since there’s no DVD or Blu-ray release for them yet?

    • Period

Disclaimer: Vivid’s subs are much better in our eyes and we suggest you watch them over Sentai’s. Xythar’s a great editor.

Anyway, ripped from CR. CR got the show well after it aired.

  • M. Northstar

You’ve provided the commentary tracks, any chance of subs for those?

  • M. Northstar

P.S. Forgot to say thank you for the release.

  • Dvvarf

First of all, thanks for the release!
Noticed a glitch @1:15-1:17 (during vertical pan) in episode 7 of 720p release. It’s not present in 1080p release.

    • That’s too bad, but I don’t really think we’ll fix that now.
That’s how I care about 720p versions of KyoAni stuff :V

  • Jared

    Thanks for the release!

However, I noticed the in the NCOP that the title font was missing (EP01 http://imgur.com/a/MHGGA vs NCOP http://imgur.com/a/nPfZH)

    It affects all releases

  • Jared

Not all releases, all the NCOP versions on the 1080p release. sorry about that
