Thanks for all the hard work on the show, guys!
I don’t know if I’m ready for this. I counted the extra time to prepare as a good thing. If anyone dies…..
I also enjoyed the changes the anime made. Thanks for all the hard work!!!
Thank you!
I started watching this based on the recommendation in the release post for the first episode. Thanks so much! ^^
Wow, this anime fucked me up.
T…thanks for your h-hard work…
It really was the perfect blend of OMGWTFHNNNNG
Is it just me that got difficulty whether a manga supposed to be read left-right top-down, right-left top-down, top-down left-right or top-down right-left? -_-
Read enough manga and western comics will become confusing.
Except sometimes people post things that look like they should be read right to left like most manga, but actually should be read left to right. Takes me a sec to catch on sometimes.
I know it was expected after Kei left relative safety with no supplies or plan, but I’m still saddened to have her fate sprung on us at the last second. Why did she do something so foolish? With zombies, to survive is to live. The surviving girls understood this after a lot of suffering.
Also, Taroumaru. T_T I got choked up. Anyone who has ever had a beloved pet die in their arms and then had to dig their grave would as well.
I went to read the manga after this, and wow, it is a lot more soul-crushing. A lot less moe, and a lot more angst and strife between the girls, like you might expect in a life or death struggle. Some details were changed, including why they left the school (skipped the ‘Fire Drill’ arc), but the anime could potentially be continued if the manga progresses far enough. Rii really starts losing her shit in that cut arc. As in suicide watch + developing her own dementia.

A second season would be pretty compelling if they cut some of the moe and steered back towards a faithful manga adaptation.
And after reading the Kei parts again, it kind of seems more like she decided to commit suicide by zombie, rather than trying to escape. Her decision to leave was not very rational, and the message left by Miki on the blackboard after graduation in the manga heavily implies that Kei committed suicide. I don’t know if it was changed for the anime or just translated differently though, so I can’t comment on that.
