Well, it certainly looks like there’ll be a season 2 at this point. Next episode is the White Whale fight, that leaves only five episodes to tie up the rest of the subplots, which is clearly impossible.
@moozooh, the anime adapts the LN which is yet to complete the third arc (should be finished around the time the anime ends). The original web novel is way ahead but that’s not used as a reference by the producers. I suspect there won’t be another season for a few years.
Regardless, unless they go for an original ending, there won’t be a conclusion to the anime for a while.

Yeah, most likely they meant the web novel (currently over six arcs available there), but the LN is behind. Volume 9 is due to get released on September 23rd, concluding arc 3, which is the same arc the anime is currently on.
Is the web novel translated?
Not that I’m aware of, but it’s unlikely. There are good summaries on Anime Suki and Re:Zero Wikia, though.
