So, there are only very minimal changes from Blurays for this episode. Most of them are adding or removing black frames or extending scene transitions. There’s also a new version of the first ending over scrolling credits, which we’ve translated.
This will probably change week to week but for now we’re using primarily BD source with web scenes when necessary and web audio because of different scene lengths.
Unless there’s some huge demand for 1080p, we’ll do 720p until a new BD version is available.

Unexpected, but appreciated.
Any reason for the hybrid encode? Surely you’re bound to miss a few minor scene changes or transition issues if you are just splicing in new stuff with the old BD version. :(
It would be nice to see just a pure web release of the new version in 1080p until a new BD is released — assuming nothing is censored later down the line.
I agree with everything Holo said, splicing the BD version with the new version just seems like extra effort we don’t need that might cause problems down the line.
I’m sorry if this is a stupid question but whats the point of combining the BD video track with the new one if your just releasing compressed 720p?
The show is animated at 720p anyway, so releasing 720p video makes sense. Even if the bluray itself is 1080p, the only elements of the video that are actually that resolution are the credits. Downscaling an upscaled video to the original resolution does not negatively impact video quality.
The web sources looks much worse. Why would you want worse quality for the scenes that haven’t changed?
You are right about the 720p part, I forgot that was the case for anime. But I’m still seeing just as many compression artifacts on this hybrid version as on the web version.
thanks and happy new year ^_^
And here I was expecting some new scenes.
Thanks!
