  Thanks for your releases, I’ll be sticking with you for the rest of the series!
  I wanted to ask why did you decide to start calling Ram-chan Lam-chan from ep 4 onwards? Her name is clearly a pun on Random Access Memory, RAM. I know romanizing Japanese can be a pain, even more so when the name is not really Japanese, only written with katakana, but in this case it should be quite obvious what her name means.

    Ironically, we’ve had the exact opposite comment made numerous times. We intended to use Lam-chan from the beginning but it wasnt well communicated to the entire staff so it kept getting mixed up between releases.

    also, just wondering, what makes you think her name is a pun on RAM? I can’t really think of any reason they would have to make a RAM joke in this series.

      Well for starters, the name sounds pseudo-latin. I can’t find a fitting translation to latin for the word ‘random’, but if her name was written as Ramdimia or something, it could just be trying to make the word sound more like latin. Axi / Akusi sounds like shortened katakana-version of the latin word accessus and memor / memoru like the katakana-verison of memoriae. Therefore I think it safe to asume that the name is trying to be a latin version of Random Access Memory, and as LAM is not an abbreviation of anything that would fit here, I thought it only logical to have her nicknamed Ram-chan. The theme of the series being magical microwaves and such, why not magical computers and memory chips? :)

      Am I making any sense? I was mainly asking if you had a clear reason to conclude that Lamdimia and Lam were correct over Ramdimia and Ram.

        Well, you did your research lol. Basically, we just needed to shoot for consistency on her name. I look forward to seeing if you are right, though, if an official romanization appears. :)

        I can count one group wanting to sub it off the top of my head. No member of DDY expressed their desire to sub it, though, so seems like you’re in the wrong implying that we should sub it. You’re welcome to point here someone who knows Chinese, though.
