The gay guy with purple hair, Tsukiyama Shuu, makes a lot of references to Jean Anthelme Brillat-Savarin throughout the episode. He’s absolutely obsessed with him, and it wouldn’t be a stretch to assume that he strives to be the physical reincarnation of the man. This Monsieur Savarin guy was a French politician and gourmet, he even has a cheese named after him and everything. Tsukiyama referenced one of his quotes in the episode, “The discovery of a new dish confers more happiness on humanity than the discovery of a new star.” which we ended up paraphrasing to “Finding this novel delicacy… Delights me more so than the discovery of a new star!”
