This week on ISUCA, Shinichirou was caught molesting an unconscious Sakuya, thereby incurring the wrath of Tamako.
There’s no new youma this week, but instead we finally learn about Sakuya’s bow. So after a break we’ll have a little about their different spirit fighting equipment.

The Yumi: Sakuya’s bow. The typical yumi is around two metres (six foot) tall and is asymmetrical, where the portion above the grip is significantly longer than the portion below. The string was traditionally made from hemp. It was an important weapon in feudal Japan, but is largely only used ceremoniously and competitively these days.
The Katana: Shinichirou’s sword. With their characteristic curved blade and two handed grip, they are arguably the most easily recognized traditional Japanese weapon. Shinichirou’s katana houses a spirit, which helps him wield the katana. In the manga you get to meet the sword spirit, but with only two anime episodes left she may not get animated. And that would be a damn shame.
Ofuda: Suseri and Matsuri’s talismans: Sometimes called shinpu or gofu. Made from strips of cloth or paper, the magical properties of each ofuda depends upon the inscription it has been given. Suseri uses hers to summon her shikigami (it didn’t die last week) while Matsuri uses hers for healing.
Claws: Tamako transforms her fingernails into cat-like claws. I’m only including this because Tamako is best girl.
Nadeshiko also has a skill, but it hasn’t been revealed to any extent in the anime, so we’ll leave that for another time.
Thanks for the new episode!
Thank you
